Living through the COVID-19 pandemic has tested us in ways we never anticipated. Due to this, we have pivoted our services to help the community and make our “new normal” easier to navigate. Social distancing guidelines and mask protocols transformed our daily lives, and wearing masks in public on the way to the grocery store feels impersonal as if our personalities are lost in the shuffle. Spike’s Trophies saw this, and since the demand isn’t there for our usual custom engraved plaques and other awards, we wanted to do our part in giving us control and personality in the masks that we wear by offering customized masks.
With a good portion of the sports world coming to a halt under the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s been an empty spot in the lives of many sports fans that very few things can fill. This is especially the case when it comes to the City of Brotherly Love, one of the most devoted sports cities in the country. Spike’s Trophies knows this all too well, as before the pandemic, we had provided PA with sports awards of all varieties of passionate fans and recreational leagues.
Our everyday lives have changed thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to affect the Greater Philadelphia Area. Aside from the health scare that has been present, this pandemic has also resulted in adverse effects from an economic standpoint and has made life a bit more chaotic for the essential workers who must still report to their jobs. These include grocery store clerks, auto mechanics, and, of course, medical professionals who are treating those affected.
On the night of March 11th, a game between the Utah Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder was suddenly postponed seconds before tipoff. Fans were told to leave the stadium, and in a state of confusion, they did. Within the next half hour, it was announced that the cancellation of the game was a result of Jazz star Rudy Gobert testing positive for COVID-19. Shortly after that, commissioner Adam Silver shocked the world when he announced that the NBA would be suspending its season indefinitely.
When it was announced that the country would be placed under a stay-at-home order as a result of COVID-19 and that non-essential businesses would be closed or operating in a limited fashion, it was difficult. Many businesses had to make adjustments, including Spike’s Trophies. As a result, we are not currently operating and providing your sports awards that New Jersey and beyond have come to know us for.
You may already know that Spike’s Trophies is the home of all the best trophies and awards in NJ and the Greater Philadelphia Area. You also may know that we can customize any of these awards for any purpose you can think of. What you may not know, however, is that our dedication to Philadelphia sports goes well beyond trophies and blogs about our favorite sports teams. If you’ve ever wanted to pay a visit to the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame, we’re your destination! Continue reading
As much as the City of Brotherly Love is passionate about our sports teams, it’s apparent that Philadelphians play favorites. To be more specific, the city has always primarily focused on the Eagles and the Sixers above all else. Every now and then, the Phillies will steal the spotlight, such as in the late 2000s and early 2010s. But under very rare circumstances has Philadelphia ever been a hockey-centric town, with the Flyers falling at the bottom of the city’s four major sports teams. However, that has started to change over the recent weeks. Continue reading
As the 2019 NFL season wraps up, the Philadelphia Eagles are beginning to see how they can improve their roster and improve from two consecutive disappointing 9-7 seasons. While they did manage to steal the NFC East crown away from the Dallas Cowboys this year, they did it with what was mainly a practice squad offense, as their key running backs and wide receivers either couldn’t stay healthy or proved to be ineffective. At Spike’s Trophies, we specialize in more than just your typical trophies and awards. We have an entire range of services that you may not have even known that we offered, including perpetual awards!
