When it was announced that the country would be placed under a stay-at-home order as a result of COVID-19 and that non-essential businesses would be closed or operating in a limited fashion, it was difficult. Many businesses had to make adjustments, including Spike’s Trophies. As a result, we are not currently operating and providing your sports awards that New Jersey and beyond have come to know us for.
Instead, we have shifted toward finding new ways to help those in need during these times of uncertainty. Read on to learn more about the steps we are taking to help others through the COVID-19 crisis.
Assisting With Testing Appointments
On the day we found out that we could not operate normally, we received an offer we couldn’t turn down. And so our employees began taking calls for the State of New York to assist with setting up testing appointments for those who may have contracted COVID-19. Our award shop quickly turned into a call center, and we are proud to say that we have been able to help people receive the testing they need in a timely manner.
Feeding Our First Responders
Our friends at 12th Street Catering set up a program to help provide pre-packaged meals to healthcare workers who may not have time to provide food for their families while they are on the front lines combatting the virus. They are allowing hospitals in the city, such as Temple Hospital and Jefferson University Hospital, as well as other companies, to sponsor these meals, with individual donations able to be made here.
Filling Orders for Face Masks
One of the most substantial roadblocks when it comes to preventing the spread of COVID-19 is the lack of protective gear that is readily available. We are proud to say that we are helping out by filling bulk orders for face masks. The masks come in packs of 120 and are priced at $180 per order — which is just $1.50 per mask. As shipping will take anywhere from 5-10 days, we recommend ordering as soon as possible if you’re in need.
Throughout this pandemic, the team at Spike’s Trophies will be looking for ways to give back and help those who need it. We are sending good thoughts and hoping for a speedy recovery for anyone who was affected by the virus, and urge others to stay home and practice social distancing. We are in this together, and we hope to resume our normal operations of providing awards, plaques, and custom signs to Philadelphia and the surrounding areas soon enough.
